Since Quentin is getting a newsletter of his own, I thought he also deserved a book promotion. So I invited indie authors to give me a few books that are kink-forward and explore BDSM themes, and I ended up with a curated collection of over 50 stories that I think Quentin’s readers might enjoy!

For a little behind-the-scenes peek into the glamorous world of indie erotica and romance writing, here’s how this process works:
On Bookfunnel, an author services platform, I set up my promotion and invited other authors to join. I set the guidelines (in this case, I asked for “BDSM kinks, from complex shibari knots to plastic handcuffs from the dollar store”) and as submissions came in, I reviewed the titles, covers, and blurbs to be sure they were good fits. If something looked off, I checked in with the authors to be sure they understood what they were getting into, and made sure the collection was as focused as it could be.
Most authors understood the assignment, and they gave me exactly what I wanted. A few, though, were less obvious. It turns out there are a lot of writers of subgenres like billionaire romance and paranormal shifter stories who apply to a whole lot of promotions without paying attention to the guidelines. These writers required a little bit of correction (it turns out that bullying billionaire romance writers is one of my kinks …), after which they either withdrew gracefully, suffered my cruel rejection, or delivered something that Quentin’s readers will enjoy.
(No shade on the billionaire-nanny-shifter subgenres if that’s what you like, by the way! I certainly don’t want to be judged by my own reading choices …)
The next step (the one we’re in now!) is for all of the authors who joined this promotion to share it with their newsletter subscribers. Some of these authors have lists of a dozen subscribers, some in the thousands; the idea is for all of us to work together to get the word out about this great collection of kinky titles, earning all of us some new readers in the process.
And should I find out that any authors aren’t doing their part? Well, I shall turn to my newfound pleasure in cracking the authorial whip, I suppose …
So enjoy these fun and kinky stories! This collection includes some of my absolute favorite writers — like Natalie Hothorne, Lacey Cross, Josie Bale, Kristin Lance, and Lucy Felthouse — and also a lot who are new to me but well worth your attention. You can’t go wrong with any of them!
