Hello, subscribers! I’m trying something a little different that I’d like you to help me with.
TL/DR: want to read and comment on a work in progress? Check out this link, or if you’re a Ream subscriber, head here and check your subscriber page. I’d love to know what you think of this story!
I’ve just finished up a story, “Into the Woods,” a 17,000 word novella that I’m planning to be the first a three part story arc. This story involves Phil, who’s on a solo camping trip while his fiancee, Petra, goes on a girls’ trip to a downstate casino. He encounters Jessie, who’s trying to learn camping skills to impress a guy she’s just started to date, and sparks (well, flames, actually, kind of hot and searing flames) start to fly.
This story has a little more character development than most of the things I’ve written lately, and a story arc that is going to involve Petra’s adventures and the fallout of both Phil’s and Petra’s experiences. Calling it “romance” is probably a stretch — going by the standard definitions, this story is very much about the characters’ erotic awakenings, and while I think in the end the characters are all going to find happiness, it’s definitely not traditional monogamous happiness. But it’s also not mindless (if entertaining and well-written) smut, like the gangbang stories I’ve been publishing recently.
Where you come in, is as an early reader: you can access the current story, warts and all (I know for sure I need to do a couple of line editing passes and probably sit with it for a while to make sure it’s doing everything I want it to do). Let me know what you think of it in comments on this post — good, bad, ugly, I’m all about hearing your thoughts. I figure if you’re subscribing to this site you’ve already demonstrated good (or poor, in a good way) judgment, and I’m really interested in your thoughts.
Feel free to share this link, too — pass it around among like minded friends, let them give their thoughts as well. The link will stay live until at least June 9, barring unforeseen circumstances.
I’m going to be off the grid over the weekend (not unlike Jessie and Phil), so I probably won’t check in on responses until Sunday evening. Any comments are greatly appreciated, and if this experiment works out, subscribers can be expected to have a chance to comment on upcoming stories on a regular basis.
