How to read “Lightning in a Bottle, Passion in the Stars”

Starting October 1, 2023, I’m publishing a Laz Larue novella, “Lightning in a Bottle, Passion in the Stars,” on Ream, Wattpad, Medium, and this site. It will be coming out a chapter at a time, every couple of days, until the end of the month, and then I’ll be bundling it all up into a single ebook that you can get on Amazon, Smashwords, Barnes & Noble, Apple Books, and Kobo.

The novella is a story told in two timelines: from 1957 to 1985, three lovers — physicist Jeremy, architect Paul, and psychologist Linda — push the boundaries of knowledge and passion, dabbling with powerful and dangerous forces. And in 2023, Clarissa, an architect going through a rocky patch in her marriage because of mismatched desires, is renovating a mysterious building in the woods and uncovers secrets beyond comprehension. There’s a little suspense, quite a bit of cosmic horror, and a whole lot of passion.

This is my second experiment in serialization — the first was another Laz Larue story, Ohio Johnson and the Fountain of Youth, which was mostly an attempt to learn the nuts and bolts of the platforms and figure out which ones I want to use.

I’m planning to do this again, with a sequel to “Ohio Johnson” that I’m calling “Love Potion Fugitives” — you can read the first chapter for free here; when it’s ready to release, I expect to use a similar method of publication.
