I bumped up the release of this collection in part because I’ve been crushed under the weight of a rebellious character while working on “Casey’s Story,” the next title in my “Mapping the Boundaries of Love” series. I thought giving each character from “Off the Leash” a chance to express herself in her own version of the story would be fun; I didn’t expect them to be so sassy and resistant to the plot I had developed for them. Casey in particular has made me rethink everything that came before, and is even throwing the finale into question. I love her for that, difficult as she’s been.
