I had been planning on a short tie-in to “Off the Leash” featuring Madeline’s adventures as a unicorn at the swingers’ casino takeover, but she demanded a longer story. And when I started on an even shorter tie-in featuring Casey, she let me in on some secrets that she was keeping from Petra and Madeline that put everything into a new light. Characters can be unpredictable and deceitful at times, but I love them anyway …
